“My design background informs and influences all my work, from a love of composition and visual space to the energy and freedom of abstract line work. I work intuitively, seeing more when I’m not focused on the detail with a variety of mixed media on plaster and wood that capture the experience rather than the reality of each landscape. Each painting explores the simplification of pattern, space, colour and texture from the places I have visited.“
Richard Monks

Richard’s work is abstract, painted from memories gathered in the landscape over the seasons. It includes familiar elements – shapes observed on regular walks around the Lake District, Liverpool and the Llyn Peninsula where he divides much of his time; field patterns on the fellside, rock formations along the coastline, or the remains of an industrial era beside the Mersey.
Estella Scholes

Estella originally trained as a painter, but now works mainly with printmaking, collage and book art. The transition from painting on canvas to original printmaking, collage and artists books has been a natural progression over a number of years. Estella approaches printmaking informally, as a painter, developing and adapting skills to allow thoughts and process to evolve towards the end abstracted results. The moment when an idea is surrendered to the alchemy of ink, damp paper and etching press pressure never fails to excite.
Yvette Glaze

“My artwork tells a story through sketch, paint, and ceramics. I am inspired by an emotional response to a place. This includes the landscape around me and the changing seasons. Also, the local fishing community with its weathered boats and boat yards. Places that you can read their history through layers of texture and colour.”
